There are many types, shapes and sizes of pulleys on the market and designed for all different uses, but if you are in an access or rescue team you should know how to use one type of pulley for all requirements.
Having different types of pulleys you have to remember which is used for for particular job and if the team member has only been taught that certain pulleys are for particular jobs, then if they have no pulley they are lost as to what to do next and this does happen.
Using one type of pulley and being taught its many uses makes it more economical for the team in purchase, stock and kitting up for use.
