The SAR KESTREL Full Body Harness have been re-designed and now come in four styles with three colour choices,
The harnesses have both a front and back attachment points and we have now added a choice of side DEE’s for work positioning that can be folded back when not required for use thus reducing risk of catching and Quick Clip buckles fitted on the leg straps.

SAR would recommend the front be used for fall arrest and the back for restraint. This is not for any other reason than to help reduce the possibility of suspension trauma if involved in a fall and being suspended for a time before rescue. The front gives the user more options to escape the system and reduce the pressures of the harness and if unconscious helps keep the air way open for breathing. Any back attachment will be the reverse of all above.

Suspension trauma can kill and has.

The webbing used on the KESTREL is high grade polyester for extra strength, abrasion resistance and has a high resistance to UV degradation. Fitting is open wrap around, but can be left fastened at the chest/sternum connection to give a quicker fitment.
The shoulder adjuster buckles are formed using two square link buckles. Although this is more difficult to adjust once set for the user’s size, they do not slip during everyday use and the excess web is folded back down through the buckle to keep tidy.
The leg connection is the standard square link and twin slot buckling system with a heavy duty elastic tidy for any excess webbing to be captivated and the alternative QC fitting this also has an elastic tidy for excess webbing.
The Kestrel 2 harnesses have a triangle of material fitted in the back to help keep the form/shape of the harness for ease of fitting.
